Default accord leak...cv axle?

Well fiances car started leaking a good bit of oil, cleaned up the bottom of engine area and within starting it in 3 seconds the oil was constantly dripping from what seemed to be the driver side axle where it goes into the transmission. Would motor oil be coming out right here? If so would I just need to have the whole cv axle changed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Neil

If the fluid you saw was golden brown and the same color as oil, and only started dripping after the engine was started then I would suspect a leak from the cam/valve cover.
AT fluid should be red, and its not pressurized at the differential where the CV axles attach.

I replaced the valve cover gasket a couple months ago. Whatever it is leaking, its falling directly on the cv axle boot to where it looks like thats where its coming from.

When you find the oil that is the farthest from the center of the Earth you have just found the leak.

Which axle has the drip on it? What is the color of the fluid that is leaking?
Did you check to see if the oil filter is correctly sealed against the block?
Does this car have VTEC? Did you check to see if the VTEC solenoid is leaking?

i agree... the oil filter is just above the driveaxle... and the oil drain plug/gasket is also near that axle

jack the driver side up and put a jack stand along with it

crawl under the driver side area & start wiping down the oil filter and engine block, along with the axle

then, after a day or 2 confirm where it's leaking and what mad mike said 2 times already
