itr climate control on a gsr??
yes ... i have changed my 94' LS climate control for a JDM DC2R full amber one.
ok ... here we go :
1)Gently remove the Hazard button and the Defroster buttons. They are the large ones located virtually in the middle right under the two center vents. The easiest way i found to remove them is by using a tiny flat head or any flat metal piece to fit under the switch. Gently wiggle it till its gets a lil' loose. Then use two flat heads, one to pry the left side of the switch, and one for the right. Pry the switch out gently so you don't scratch or shank up the buttons. Do the same for both sides.
2) Once both switches are taken out, remove the circuitry. You will see 2 screws in each opening now. Remove the screws and set them aside.
3) **Very TRICKY part** IT will be very difficult to take the whole piece out becuase it is attacked to a metal wire connected to the vents for "cold and hot air" (the temp. switch). The best method i found to do here is to remove the majority of the wiring from all remaining switches and buttons. once done w/ this ... try to repositon the climate control without forcing it to the point where you make break things.
4) To remove the metal wire connecting the temp. control, you can either: 1) use a needle noseplier to bend the wire to take the climate control out or 2) (the way i did it) twist the whole climate control unit so you can slide the wire through. The wire will be latched in a "Z" shape to the plastic lever. Try to twist the unit to slide easily out of the "Z" shaped wire.
5) Pull the whole unit out. Now trace your steps back and install the JDM climate control the same way. Start with either the bottom wirings or the metal latch, then the rest of the wires, slide the unit back in, screw in the 2 screws, slide in both defroster and hazard buttons (which will snap right back in) back in once wire is connected.
6) TEST IT OUT TO SEE IF IT WORKS. if so .. .should light up beautifully amber color!
... not to mention the dope carbon fiber trim.
- Estimated time for a novice: 1:45 mins.
- For an experienced individual: 20-30 mins.
GOOD LUCK ... and i hope my directions weren't too vague ... and especially hope they help!
PS - If you ever need to know how to install the RHD carbon fiber switch covers for the driver and passenger side door panels ... lemme know. I successfully installed those too as well when i was told they will not fit! ... i made a few modification adjustments myself. I still yet to attempt to make a JDM RHD carbon fiber shift console install into a USDM integra.

will fit perfectly! like he said..the only tough part is undoing the wire (temp cable) and some of the harnesses. The easiest way to remove this is look underneath your dash on the passenger side and pull the lever that goes from blue-red...you will see the cable pullin on a lever. Just slide the cable off of that lever and the climate control will come out a lot easier. good luck
