Default Car battery question

So after car being down for almost 2 months finally got my parts that i ordered in and installed and my R is up and running.

Now my battery is dead and its time for a new one. I have a person on a local forum selling a Odyseey P680 Battery for $175 and it also comes with the billet mount.

Currently just using a regular OEM battery. Nothing fancy. I drive the car about every other day so there will be day or two when the car does not get started and sits in the garage. I do drive the car year round and we have 4 seasons where I am from. (100+ summers and 32&below winters).

Car Specs: 600 hp Turbo ITR
No crazy gauges or anything. Just Neptune Tunerview II
(2) 500 watt amps.

Questions are:

1. Will this be enough to power my car?

2. Will I run into any problems starting the car with the amount that I drive it and weather conditions?

3. Decent price?

4. If this battery will not work, what do you suggest?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I thought there might be some ITR members that can help out. If not, please move accordingly.

Thanks

I am using a PC 680 for 4 years. Your amp is ok with the car running, but that is a small battery to try to use for very long it the car is off. In effect, you are running mostly off the alternator with the battery as a buffer or filter. Not sure why you would want this battery. I use it mounted on the floor to save weight and reposition weight for track. If your starts easily, you should be ok in the winter, but again, a small battery without much reserve. You could get a normal size Odyssey and not get a billet mount, or save and get Cosco, Walmart, or other regular lead acid battery. There are other battery threads on others opinions and favorites.

^^ What he said. If you use the car alot that battery is fine. If you dont use it alot you will need to invest in a battery tender to keep the batt's charge going.

listen to these guys, i also have a p680 battery, i NEVER drive my car, and i had to buy a 2nd one cause the first one quit taking charge. And now the 2nd one is dying. Cold weather seems to really kill the battery quick. if you DD the car get regular battery. At 600hp the weight wont matter.

I almost never drive mine in the winter. It sits on a quality trickle charger that will not over or under charge. I purposely discharged it to 11.9 volts last year and then recharged. It is a deep cycle type battery, not to be left at a low charge state. I got about 16+ amps in, don't remember the exact figure. I have some old radio control chargers and dischargers that will measure this. It is rated at 16-17, to 20 amps out, or in, depending on the discharge rate. My 3 year old battery was like new. Batteries do not like to sit at less than full charge. Look up sulfonation, kills batteries. All that said, they are great batteries for the correct purpose, weight and small recreational vehicles, and can be lousy otherwise.
