Are you trying to bleed it like brakes? By pumping it up and then releasing the pressure?

I think the right way is:
Open bleeder, push clutch down
Close bleeder, lift clutch
rinse and repeat.

I had this problem after my H22 swap, but that was a long time ago. I do remember it took for f'n ever though.

make sure the clutch pedal rod that goes to the master cylinder is adjusted right, I know that I couldn't get my lude to bleed after I did a 5spd swap because I had the rod too long. I'm pretty sure the book gives a good procedure for making sure this is right.

The master cylinder is so small. It's really easy to let it get low and air get into it, making the clutch pedal not have enough pressure to return it back up. Make sure you refill it before it even gets close to being low.

Remember the instructions, you probably are doing it different. It's not like bleeding brakes.

^^ That's a good idea, air comes out through the cup, if the slave tries to suck back in, all it gets is fluid.

I've only had to bleed slaves late at night when I'm frustrated and not thinking right, I hope I remember this next time ... lol
