distributor trouble

Default distributor trouble

car just seems to quit fireing at 25 in firstgear or 45 in second gear. i am getting 8 flashes at the ecu . the distributor looks new ... just got the car.. i replaced the ignition control module.the problem is intermittent

any suggestions

do i have to spend 500.00 to get a distributor that works?

**** no...i got my 89 crx si dizzy on ebay 129 dollars shipped to my front door, code 8 is the tdc signal i think, i cant remember right off, if it turns out to be the tdc signal your probably gonna need a dizzy, otherwise its in your harness which ive seen before

is there any way to check harness im pretty good with a meter
ive been told that dizzys that you get from autozone are junk, is there any truth in that

There not junk some of my friends get theres from autozone n there still rolling with no problems. Just dont get 1 from some1 on craigslist cause the price sounds good.

code 8 is tdc. I personally don't like distributors that aren't from honda unless it was dirt cheap. I have seen people on this forum practically giving away their old distributors. I would buy one of those.

ohm out the wires all the way to ecu plug. probably the dizzy though.

Ohm the wires? what the hell? If you want to damage the ecu then go ahead. haha.

TDC a sensor inside the distributor that dictates when cylinder 1 is at top dead center. What is going on is when it gets hot the sensor tends to open. And just because the dizzy looks new doesn't mean its new.

How bout you try distributorking.com for the dizzy. Cuz that is your problem. Autozone dizzy are cool cuz they have a lifetime warranty.

it was the dizzy but i did have to go to three different places to get one that didnt look worn or abused . got one of those warranty things too . car runs fine now
