Default Is it bad to use an exhaust silencer?

I've had my silencer in for about two weeks and took it off today and realized its not horrible in normal rpms. So I was wondering should I leave it out? Is it bad to leave the silencer in 24/7? Could I end up with negitive effects? I've searched but found no answers.

Its not bad to leave the silencer in 24/7, however...if your exhaust came w/one I highly advise purchasing something a lil less "ricey"

Usually exhausts that come with a silencer are extremely loud. If you have stock piping than it doesnt matter as much. But if you have bigger piping, then the silencer will restrict the flow of the exhuast, causing you to lose the power gains from the exhaust. Although they are not typically very high anyways. If you want a good sounding muffler for a civic, I would recommend a Apexi WS2. If you dont want to break the bank, but you want a great flowing, deep sounding exhaust thats not really loud, get a Tsudo SP2. I have one and it sounds great, I've had it for years and its still in great condition.

Well right now I have the exhaust my car came with. Its not crazy loud but I prefer to stay low profile. And the silencer makes it sound nice and deep. I may look into a new exhaust down the road. And just to make it known its not too ricey just louder than I want. Thanks for the help everyone.

apexi WS2 exhaust is 60mm, it's small if your building a boosted car, or big NA build it's not the right exhaust, if you want a daily driver, it's the best choice to go with. I'm waiting for my buddy club spec 2. I'll probably regret it...

Apexi WS2 comes in an 80mm version in the universal application. Which is better anyway because any turbo or N/a build needs 3" piping all the way down. Normal WS2 is just 60mm.

True, Thermal also makes an excellent choice.

if it fell off then it had to do with how you installed it.
