Prelude Vtec Calipers leaking from fully closed bleeder screws.
Anyone else have this problem, 2 sets of reman caliper the second time around using honda's reman, and well idk, i guess im screwing them up right off the bad tightening them too hard...
my other fix which is on the way but i dont know if it will help is, replacing my front pass side SS brake line to match the others. I went to a local shop to make a SS line cause this line got kinked, and then i droped the caliper with the line attached. so i figured to replace it.
So this custom line ended up being a little short, so i think being short its adding pressure to the whole system, and its built a lot better so i think its adding extra pressure that way too.
So idk, maybe if i put the correct new line that comes in the kit back on it will reduce some pressure...
I backed both bleeders off and just snugged them back on , and it still leaks up the threads on the bleeder screws, right now for some reason its only leaking on the drivers side with the original SS line.. so now im really confused. All this money im about to get some brembo calipers or something, .. .

don't buy remanned calipers. difference in your flex hose length will not cause any issue, think about it, each wheel has a different length of brakeline to the abs unit, and eventually to the master. having a flex hose slightly shorter will not affect the pressure at all... if it's a different diameter, that's another story.
Completely agree with the Teflon tape and disagree with the buying
Remanufactured parts. They are actually usually build better than many of the new parts on the market. The reman companies recognize flaws and reason why parts fail and correct these issues. I do agree to check the diameter of the hose though.

my bleeder is closed, i clean up good, down the inside and around the thread still showing, then i put pressure on the system and sometimes right away or 20 mins later the thread that is flush with the caliper on the closed bleeder is filled with fluid.
As to the teflon tape, i dont know how good that would work, and i dont want it eroding into my braking system..

second set of remanufactured calipers this time from orielys cause their return policy is better than hondas.
......still leaking bleeders, i have been even softer on the screws, idk, seems like when you open them up too far your screwed....

I never had a problem with using teflon tape. Once I did it, it was done, never thought about it again.
I also never replace calipers, unless they seize. I also never bleed brakes, I open the MC and push the piston back into the caliper with a C-clamp when I change brakes.

well i road race the car and run motul brake fluid. I am gonna try the teflon tape this weeken, but prob try once more with some calipers now that i have open return policy...
just cleaning up my old threads,
My problem was that my brake master cylinder was shot as well so it was magnifying the problem.
I ended up putting honda bond on the bleeder screws and new BMC, and everything has held up so far, braking is at its full potential...
