Default 2000 civic si - cluster and climate control lights don't work?

hey guys,

im new to this forum, sorry if its already been talked about but i could not simply find it.

my gauge cluster lights do not work nor does my climate control lights. i took off the cluster and the old owner did some hack job. i wired everything back to its stock location and still nothing.

any suggestions? i also checked fuses but idk which fuses would run the cluster and climate control?

thanks!

How confident are you that 7.5A dash fuse 30 is not blown.

Is the dimmer switch possibly dialed all the down?

triple checked, not blown.

and the dimmer switch is all the way up, but maybe the switch is messed up?

when i bought the car it had white faced gauges and it lite up very vaguely. i took off the white face gauges and wired everything back and nothing now. but the climate control never worked.

Pry the switch from the dash and unplug it. Then jumper wire the red wire to the black wire in the connector. Do the lights now work?

Use a short piece of wire or paperclip to connect the red wire terminal to the black wire terminal in the free dimmer switch connector -- just like jumping the service connector to pull CEL codes (if you have done this).

Did you turn the light switch on? Does the red wire or red/blk wire have voltage to body ground?
