Default Viper 5901 Brain?

What's up y'all,

This is my last resort as I do now know what to do...

I ordered a Viper 5901 alarm system at Amazon.com while I was in the states a couple of months ago.
Took it back home and installed it in my ITR, loved it

However the brain seems to be defective now and I'm getting desperate as I have a big Honda meet in a couple of weeks.
The 5901 was never sold in Europe so the retailers here are just telling me to GTFO .

I tried several American retailers, hell even Viper, but they don't want to tell me what the price would be for a new brain and surely don't want to ship to the Netherlands.

So i'm kinda stuck atm, I need this alarm working ASAP but I don't want to (and am not able to as none of the retailers ship to Europe) purchase a new set.

So if anyone has a set at home and is willing to part it out or would be so kind to check it out at a local store?

Thanks in advance!

Well, apparently some water dripped onto the Brain and I can't lock and unlock it anymore.
First the siren went off for no reason and I was not able to shut it off.
After 15 minutes it suddenly stopped, we then found out it was the brain getting wet so we took it out, let it dry and hooked it back up.

It worked like a charm for an hour or two and afterwards the same issues, can't lock/unlock while all of the other stuff still works (Panic function, temp check etc)

I have the unit next to me atm, I'll make pics (of the inside) if that'll help.

also see if you can get a 5701 which is the same exact brain other then the remote and return the old one?

also i don't see anything burnt inside the actual brain itself... unless the relays inside are burnt at which point you can see if you are able to go to radio shack and buy the relays itself and just solder it on to the old pin outs

Well, I figured there's not much that can go wrong with the Antenna, how could I check it out?

The Viper series were never sold here so i'm outta luck..
That's exactly what I thought, couldn't smell or see anything burnt.

If someone could check if the brains can be purchased seperately and are willing to ship it to the Netherlands if the price is right.

let me check on that, try checking if all the connections on the antenna itself are connected from the brain and as well as the antenna side. also try looking at the actual lock and unlock wire. lock is black/white (passenger door lock switch) and unlock is black/red (passenger door lock switch). check the actual solder and make sure its making good contact. then also meter the lock and unlock wires from the brain it self. once you pressed the lock button, meter the green wire it should go to 12v. and same for unlock.

also check the ground wire and make sure its grounded on a exposed metal surface on the chasis. Ive seen all these cause problems of what your referring to at times intermittent. lock wires can also be found drivers side kick panel gray plug.

I'll check all of the above out first thing in the morning.
If you have any more tips/things to look at, let me know ^^

Thanks for your help!

edit: Ah, the ground wire, forgot to check that.
The alarm did work for 4 days straight, then all of the issues started after a storm and some heavy rainfall passed by.

well if it did get water maybe the ground is corroded and needs to be resurfaced.

We've checked the ground and it's decent so the problem lies elsewhere.

When we measured all of the wires/plugs the only ones which were off was the Antenna plug and the one coming from the central locks.

Tomorrow is the last attempt, going to try and play with it.
I do however think I know what the result is going to be...

If you have anymore tips please do let me know, the problem is or with the antenna or with the plug (the tiny one) for the central lock. Those are the plugs which were in direct contact with water.

or go via amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Viper-5901-Res...8454107&sr=8-1

The advantage of going via an authorized dealer is they may be able to work the life time warranty even though you're out of the country...

The set I have I already purchased through amazon. (while I was in the states)
I would love to order through amazon right now but I can't since they don't ship overseas..

And as mentioned above, they won't help me because i'm out of the country :/
