Del Sol Auto to 5sp help
I got this del sol thats an auto, and Im wanting to convert to 5sp..as of right now I don't have the tranny (and mounts) and linkage..will i need axels for that tranny? (if so i got them too)..but what else would i need? ecu, throttle cable, pebals, master cyclinder for the clutch and clutch lines? do i need 5sp wiring harness?? is this conversion even worth it? plan to boost the d series, thats why im wanting to convert
Just need the trans, linkage, pedal set, run the appropriate wires from the auto shifter to the clutch pedal switch, and you can convert a auto ecu to manual by cutting rp17 and bridging rp18. It makes the ecu into a manual ecu.
And if you don't already know, you either have to cut the chassis mount out for the transmission and weld in a 5 speed mount, or get one of the conversion mounts that replaces the regular motor mount. It's $100-130 whether you get Avid or Hasport.
I think there's a reverse light and wire that signals that it's in park that has to be run to the clutch pedal switch. I cannot tell you offhand, but there's a plug and each wire gets run somewhere else.
This link here shows where they go.

Get the clutch pedal set and just the manual brake pedal. Unbolt the auto brake pedal and bolt in the manual one. That way you don't need a new throttle cable.
You'll need to make a cover for the shifter hole. A new oem shift boot is approximately 10 bucks from your dealer and will fit the automatic console just fine.
