Default 94 civic engine overheating

Short and simple. Car worked 100% fine, never overheating a bit.. One day a coolant hose burst, took it to a mechanic he replaced the burst hose, drove the car home. By the time i got home the car was releasing mass amount of white steam(coolant im guessing). Had a friend change out the radiator, and car now runs idle without overheating, but once i drive it, it goes up to the red and passed and the temp guage. This happens in about 5-10 minutes of street driving, and then the steam appears from the engine. My friend said it is probably the head gasket, but I have 0 white smoke coming from the tailpipe.. and never have. Any suggestions on what to try first?

Did you bleed all the air from the system?
Also stop overheating the engine before you warp something.

I did not bleed the air system. And im not sure how to, I googled it and it looks rather easy but is something someone could attempt without much engine knowledge?

It's not an air system You bleed air OUT of the cooling system. It;s a simple thing to do.

with yours being a 94 and probably having the bleed bolt this might be a more accurate pic of what you are working with

I appreciate everything, and Im going to attempt this see if it works. Also, i just went outside looked at my car again, and there is the SMALLEST amount fumes coming from the tailpipe, but Its almost nothing. Right where the valve cover(i think its called), covers, there is some GOOWY grey rips in what looks to be the gasket, and there is some fluid on the back left of the cover. Im also going to try to get some video/pictures to help.

Okay. So I did it, was simple, and it seems to have worked somewhat.

Now, I was looking into the car more, the car doesn't pass the halfway mark on the temp guage, even when i take off in the car.. BUT it does smell like something is burning, it seems like its oil to me, but I am unsure. I took off the cap where you pour the oil, and a small amount of smoke was released. And then stoped seconds later. The front of the engine is also steaming, but I think it might be just burning off the excess coolant that was sprayed everywhere..

Also, where you pull out the OIL dipstik, there is a little cover or something, and little bit of smoke was coming from there aswell. My friend told me that would happen because it was burning the excess of something, i forgot what he told me.

What should be the next steps/things to look for as far as driving the car. As of right now it is running like usual but the temperate is almost to halfway, but doesnt pass it..
