88 hf wont start
I bought this hf for 550 a couple of months ago as a project. Two days ago I was driving and it just shut off on me. I check and replaced the spark plugs and wires. Checked the main relay, The problem is itll crank all day but wont turn over the timing belt isnt bad so idk why. any Ideas???? I know its a pos d15b6 but still id like for it to run until my swap b16a comes in..
Worth a shot, you never know, haha.
Yeah, check for spark first because it's the easiest. Put a used plug on one of the wires and touch it to a ground. Have someone crank the car and see if you can see the spark.
If no spark, then something is wrong at the dizzy.
If yes spark, pull the distributor cap and check the rotor button. Make sure the rotor button is tight to the shaft and looks to be in good condition.
Then disconnect the distributor connectors. Rotate the crankshaft and make sure that the distributor turns.
All of that should just about completely cover any spark issue that would cause you to go from running to not running. Try that stuff and then let us know.
