Default CEL 41 how to address

looked it up it says Primary Oxygen sensor heating circuit

is this as easy as spending $67 for a new sensor

or there some sort of wire loose etc that heats the sensor

how should I approach this

thanks

You find fuse box diagrams in the FAQs sticky.

it says fuse 15 is alternator , VSS, ELD ,EVAP purge, and oxygen sensors

my battery hasnt died so I assume alternator is working
and the speedometer is working so I assume the circuit is operating correctly?

just went out to car pulled the 4th fuse counting from the left in the middle row
thats the one the diagram says
it was a 7.5 and it "appeared" good

That's the fuse. Test it to be sure and, if good, test that voltage reaches the O2 sensor heater element pin in the O2 sensor connector. If that's also fine, measure resistance of the heater element.

Will do so tomorrow , quick question tho out of the for wires on the O2 connector WHICH pin is the heater element

could this all be bypassed by just buying a new sensor?

The two black wires on the O2 sensor side are for the heater element. One is power from the main relay and the other is ground on the ECU. Measure resistance across the two black wires and voltage to body ground to one of the two corresponding wires in the wire harness connector.

ok I have a multimeter that electricians use
can I measure resistance with that?

I know it will check voltage

Yes. Post the Ohm reading.

ok I had 12.46 volts to the plug side

and when I switched the meter to read OHMS

I would put one side of the tester on one of the black wires prongs
and the other on the other prong and got NOTHING
tried several times in case wasnt getting connection
no reading

If you touch the two probes of the meter together, what Ohm reading does the meter display?

If you separate the two probes of the meter, what Ohm reading does the meter display?

Which reading did you see when you touched the two black wires with the meter probes?
