I'm not getting any oil pressure to the vtec pressure switch and solenoid
This is a 1st gen b16 head ls/vtec and I've taken apart the entire vtec engaging system. For those of you who haven't done this yet it's a four chambered setup with a spring loaded plunger going through the middle.
I have two oil pressure gauges setup. One on the oil feed line to the head and one on the cyl head.
I thought maybe the oil passage from the oil source line to the solenoid was obstructed, but when I blew compressed air it was fine. I'm running size 4 ss braided hose so there is enough volume getting there. I even took out the plunger so oil could bypass the solenoid and go strait to the vtec chamber portion. However I still wasn't getting any oil pressure there.
This is really irritating me. I'm about to just weld a 1/8" npt bung on the "solenoid" and source the oil pressure externally, just to get the damn thing working.
