no pressure when i press the clutch
i was driving my car and when i got to a stop sign i put the car into first and then i shifted into second but my foot got stuck on the floor (don't drive with slippers, unless you have small feet) and when i let it go i thought the clutch pedal snapped cause it didn't come back up with my foot, it was all the way down touching the floor and i had to reach down with my hand and pull it back up since there was no resistance (idk if this is irrelevant but when i push the clutch down i can still start my car) when the car is off i can put it into any gear but when it's on and i push the clutch down and it gets stuck down by the floor i can't put the car in gear.
my brother said i might have snapped my clutch cable but i searched on HT other people that had this problem fixed it by bleeding their break fluid and pumping the lines? or they had to replace their pressure plate.
i know that might not be the case with my car until i bring it to a mechanic but i'd rather much try to fix it myself.
Car is a '92 Civic CX, d15z1, trans and engine are stock, i never race or run the engine hard, and i don't rest my foot on the clutch pedal

are the reservoirs for the break and clutch fluid in the top right of the engine bay? by the rod that holds up the hood. the bigger reservoir (i think it's the break fluid) is dark like a coffee color, and the smaller reservoir (i'm guessing would be the clutch fluid) is empty. Clutch fluid is clear right? there's a small amount that gathers on this part (not sure what it is but it's connected to my clutch pedal, it has a rod and there's a metal casing around it that goes from inside the car through the firewall to the engine bay)
i'm gonna go to Pep Boys or Auto Zone today and see if they have any Clutch fluid replacement kits, i hope i just ran out of clutch fluid and everything else works fine.

what's the best way to bleed a clutch? i tried it by myself and it wasn't working so i'm gonna get a friend to help but which is the easiest technique to bleed it out? if bleeding it doesn't work i ordered a new slave and master cylinder from Honda, is replacing the new slave and master hard? does anyone have any tips or diagrams on removal and installation?
found out why i can't get pressure back into my clutch when i was bleeding it, every time my brother would push the clutch pedal down after a couple pumps with the bleeder closed, brake fluid would just squirt out of the rubber boot on the salve cylinder. is there supposed to be a rubber seal there to keep the fluid inside the slave?
anyway here's a run down of the bleed method i used
1. attach clear tube to bleeder and put end into jar 1/4 full of brake fluid
2. fill up reservoir
3. pump pedal 2 times
4. hold clutch down to floor
5. open bleeder, let fluid/bubbles flow into jar
6. close bleeder
7. lift/pull up clutch to normal position
8. re-peat 3-7, and when necessary fill reservoir
if i did anything wrong feel free to correct me, this is my first time bleeding and this is the method i found on HT
although i got the fluid to run through clear, i just can't keep the pressure, really stumped on this one, any solutions or opinions are much appreciated

I just replaces my slave cylinder and the master cylinder today, master cylinder was cake ( 99 civic SI ), Fill your reservoir, open the bleeder on the slave cylinder, pump the clutch till fluid spits out, then push the clutch to the floor and hold it down. Close the bleeder, let the clutch off the floor, open the bleeder again, push the clutch down and hold it, close the bleeder, let off the clutch, repeat till the air is outta the lines....

when you replaced your Master Cylinder, did you bench bleed it first before you installed it or did you install it and then bleed it? cause when i replace mine i just want to know if i "have" to bench bleed it, or if i can just skip that, bleed it after installation. will installing the MC without bench bleeding damage it?
I just swapped mine tightened it up and bled it, worked fine, make sure you loosen it out as much as you can at the pedal. Itll take a lot of pumps to get fluid flowin, dont get frustrated, took me almost 5 min to fluid to bleed.
changed the slave cylinder, clutch works again, no seal on the old slave that's why it wouldn't hold the pressure and fluid would leak out. thanks for the help guys, too bad my tire just shredded lol, now i have another problem to deal with
