Upgraded Brakes?
I have a '93 Civic Hatch CX with a complete rear disc swap from a '90 Integra (brake booster, master cylinder, prop valve) that I did back in Oct. of last year. I bought the car in April of last year and I didn't really get much info on it from the PO other than it was completely stock as far as he knew.
Went to buy brakes tonight from Autozone because the rears started grinding really bad and I decided to buy new pads and rotors all around. They had to order the pads for the rear so I figured I would go ahead and do the fronts tonight so that would be less work to do tomorrow. Took the caliper and rotor off and went to put the new rotor on and it wouldn't fit over the hub, didn't think it was that big of a deal since the old ones were still in alright shape, so I put the old one back on and started to do the pads. Took the old pads off and they're the wrong size too. I watched the guy at Autozone type in the car info so I know he pulled the right parts.
How can I tell if I have different than factory brakes? The pads and calipers both said NISSIN on them and I noticed that my brake booster and master cylinder both say that on them as well. Do Civic's come with NISSIN brakes from the factory like Integra's do?
The caliper has "17CL14VN" under the "L" and the number "22" where the brake line is.

Sorry for the huge cell phone pics.
Would like to try and get this figured out asap cause this is my DD.

you can cross reference the number on the caliper with Autozone and see which car they came from using the part number from the new pads. just have them use the part number from that caliper and look up the part number for a 90 integra.
My friend just brought up a good point that I forgot about til now.
When I bought the car it had 13" steelies on the back and 14" steelies on the front. I didn't think anything of it when I bought it because judging by the guy I bought it from, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so I thought he probably didn't notice that they were different sizes. My friend suggested that I try and put one of the 13" steelies on there and it wouldn't fit.

EDIT: Just read the thread from the link egsleepercivic posted and saw the exact number on my caliper on this post (http://www.d-series.org/forums/suspe...ml#post1355844) and it says its from a 90-91 civic EX or 90+ Integra (non-type R).
looks like you have either integra front brakes or civic ex front brakes (both are 10.2"). what's the casting code on the knuckles? it should be half way up and start with rh or lh then a letter and a number or something like that
I've already put everything back together for the night since I have to be at work in six hours. If they're different then I'll run back out to the garage and check real quick.

Just went out and checked so we can get this solved faster.
The only numbers I saw on the drivers side knuckle were SR-L-14N and 4AK. Hope this helps.
I didn't check the passenger's side due to how late it is.

Bought front pads and rotors for a '90 DA and they fit, at least the drivers side rotor did. It was the only one I could get the screws that hold the rotor on out.
Guess I'm going to have to take it in to a shop or something since I cant get the screws out on any of the other 3 rotors, I even have the tool to do it but I can't get it to work how it should...

I think that's what it's called? What ever it is, you put it on there and hit it with a hammer. I smacked it for a good ten minutes or more and it didn't budge the screws at all...
Load the impact driver first and then hit it. Don't hit the hammer expecting the impact driver to wind down. Wind it down then hit the impact driver.
I called a mechanic my friends dad knows and he said that you don't really need those screws, they're just on there from the factory so the rotors don't fall off while on the assembly line and hurt someone. He said if I drill them out I could get them off in a couple minutes.
