All need is engine mounts and linkage->cable. Same as h and f swaps I assume.

never really looked into this swap, but i think all you'll need is new mounts as far as the engine bay is concerned. for the rest i have no idea.

I am a big fan of unusual swaps and this is very practical swap. All you will need is the shifting cables, mounts, wiring, axles, ECU, and some time. This swap will be exactly the same as doing and H series swap..

It's much easier with an H2b kit. You can use b-series mounts, a better performing b-series transmission.

The h2b kit is well worth it. Saves you from hacking up your floorboard to run shifter cables. The performance gains are unreal.

+1 your going to want to run H2B adapter plate so u can run integra spindles and stuff and make this swap way less of a headache and the b series trannys have a better variety to choose from.

f20 would swap in with store bought mounts, and a little wiring. You'll need a h2b / h2d kit. You should be fine. Or if you wanna go insane you can always do the f20c the s2k motor.

Now if you want to do that.....

you'll need to do some custom stuff like mod the firewall, the transmission tunnel, and rear-end. The f20 is the s2k motor. Check this crx build, it will give you an idea what would need to be done.

f20b is similar to an h22. f20c is nothing like the b/h brethren and actually spins the opposite direction.

so does this mean you have to use the f20b tranny only. so then the b-series / d-series trannys will not work then. but the h22 f22 etc spin the same direction as it brothers... the d/b... so why did they make it spin backwards.

F20B is for all intents and purposes, an h22. an h22 transmission is the same transmission used on the f20b. The engine was in their Euro accord and a production engine only due to a racing requirement from some rally competition that the engine not exceed 2.0L.

The engine is literally a de-stroked h22.

it's got higher compression and revs a tad higher so it makes similar power in stock form.

the f20c shares almost no similarities with h22/F20b engines. The k20 and the f20c both spin opposite the d/b/h/f20b engine line ups.

f20c is an s2000 motor and u could only use a s2000 transmission there's no way around it. they say the s2000 rear is weak and most use a silvia rear in place of it. lil too much work unless u got the dough to do it. this thread is getting off track lol.... back to the f22 single cam discussion.....

f22 single cam is also ultimately an h22. The h2b kits work for them as well.

The OP also asked about the f20b, which is a DOHV vtec. Almost identical to the h22

if u do they will probably need to be welded in as they will not be located at the same spot as the motor that was in it (B or D which have the same mounts and locations) the h2b kit will allow u to have a better tranny as the h22 and f22 transmissions are junk. the b series transmissions are stronger and as i said before have a variety of different gearing to choose from . also b series transmissions have a bigger market of parts to beef up the transmission. i believe u would need custom made axles to run a h22 or f22 transmission. with the h2b kit u could just use b series stock axles and integra spindles.

@apexi_rsx

sorry jus want to clear things up. so if i use a h2b kit i dont have to buy the transmission, i can jus use my stock bseries tranny. so all i need for this swap to happen if i have a h2b kit is a f20b engine am i right? correct me if im wrong.

and ihave a/c in my 98 civic if i swap the f20b in my car will my a/c still be available?

yes all u would need is the h2b adapter kit... as for the a/c i have no idea most people with this swap probably dont run a/c as that motor is a monster with barely any room. i think they make relocating kits to run this stuff though... maybe someone else can chime in on that question.

The h2b kit is not "expensive"

It's worth every penny. Wait a few months if you can't afford it. It is every bit worth it. Any of the drag racers who run h2b will tell you nothing did more for their trap times and 60' than an h2b kit when converting from a regular h22 swap.

It basically makes the h2b almost bolt in. Banging the frame rail and using a different crank pulley.

And if you've already got a bswap just use your current engine mounts and transmission. The QSD kit was designed with b-series swaps in mind. It's designed to be an upgrade for n/a b-series builds.

air conditioning is possible, just tricky.
