Engine sputters and gets weak sometimes then the power returns
At low or even high rpms on occation my engine will act this way, but especially recently.
I have noticed on the highway cruising at a constant speed that my engine will not maintain the power and you can feel it. It is the same feeling you'd get if you were to press and release the gas pedal several times within a couple of seconds. Kind of a jerky feeling from the engine, as if the engine isn't receiving a consitant amount of fuel or some thing.
any ideas?

well u need to explain more, it could be the compressor for the ac turning on and off, it could be a bad fuel system, could be the distributor, the wires, there could be water in the plug ports, the timing could be way off, could be alot of things, explain what car u drive, what motor is in it, and what u have done to it and maybe i or someone else can help u
I will put the old wires back on, because now that you mention it, this didn't occur till i put the MSD wires on.
BTW, I have a 95 Civic EX SOHC, this occurs w/o ac on. BBK fuel pump, 2month old fuel filter.

After you have done the preventative maintenance, cap, rotor, plugs. Do one more thing most don't think of.... the PCV valve.
I am sure you have already found that if you floor it the car will snap out of it. Well as it turns out my PCV valve had not been replaced in god knows when. What had happed is that carbon and other "stuff" had deposited in the INTAKE MANIFOLD. Best solution is to take it off and clean it.
Give that a try... worked for me.
Good Luck

it was the plugs.
I found that the 2nd and 3rd spark plugs were not even seated all the way.
All of the plugs were really black. I think that i am runnig rich. my a/f gauge usually reads 14.3
I put new plugs in and drove about 6 miles and the problem went away.
thanks.
