Default d16z6 Possible rod bearing.

D16z6 has a noise coming from it at around 3k rpms and higher, I'm pretty certain i've got it narrowed down to a rod bearing so here's where i need some suggestions. Is it possible for me to drop the header and oil pan, and remove the caps and slid the bearings out with a pick and replace them the same way? It just started the noise recently so i'll check the crank for any marks on it, but was curious none the less. Thnx

Possible? Yes. I have done it before. Recommended? No. The motor lasted only 15 miles after the job. It turned out to be a huge waste of time. I ended up pulling the motor and rebuilding it.

Sounds like a bad rod to me from my experiance.
Spun rods with knock really fast and loud at idle.
Bad rods knock when you hold throttle at 2k rpms but it does knock at idle but its pretty quiet and slow.
