Default Stripped Hood threading

Hey all,

I have an issue, the location where the hood bolts on to either side of the hood. The 4 10mm bolts, well one of the threading is stripped. It is the lower driver side bolt, thus I cannot use the hood holder to keep the hood open. This is on a CF hood. Can anyone give me any ideas that would resolve this problem?

My friend stated to use a butterfly bolt, the ones that go in straight and collapse inside the hole so it create brace like affect.

Any ideas?

Cool. Could I find this at a auto shop or hardware shop?

I hope I can find it in the same size as the other 10mm.

Thanks again

Try an automotive store, if not hardware store.

I would try a rivet nut tool, depending how much room you have to work with

It's a CF hood.

More specifically, it's a 10mm head with 6x1.0 threads.

I know, but the hardware is metal. It may melt the clear coat though. You could just tap it to a bigger size.
