CIVIC CONDENSER AND RECEIVIER DRIER HELP NEEDED PLEASE
I have a leak in my ac condenser i am going to install a new condenser and new receiver/drier. My question is ?
1. How and where do i add the AC pag oil?
2.Do i simply just recharge the system after using the store bought can option?
OR after i install the parts should i just take it to a qualified shop to be vacumed and recharged.?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.. I dont want to have to do it twice...

Most R-134a coolant has oil in it. I've use the recharge cans from Pepboys or Autozone without any problems.
I emptied all the oil out of the A/C lines before re-charging the unit. It's nasty stuff though. Keep it off your skin and your paint. And don't breath it.
Make sure you change the gaskets on your fittings

so do i add the oil into the new receiver/drier? and directly into the condenser? or do i add it into the lines? or do i just buy the can freon that contains the oil?
also as long as i dont keep the system opened to moisture i will not have to vacume the system?

Don't do ANY work until you have done a lot more reading.
your best bet is to take it to a shop. a lot can go wrong playing around with your AC. the next thing you know you spent 400 to 500 on something simple. just spend the 100 or 130 and let a shop do all the work. put it like this once you rented all the tools need and time spent its about the same price....
i had a shop evacuate the system today and i installed the new condenser replacing all o-rings i also changed the receiver/drier both where fairly easy. Going to bring it back to the shop tomorrow so they can charge it properly. thanx for all the advice
greatly appreciated

For those searching in the future: You need to drain the oil that is inside the old receiver and condenser and measure it. Then add the same amount of fresh oil to the new parts being installed. You can simply pour it all into the new receiver and call it a day. It all gets mixed in as soon as the system is fired up. Also, the Helm manual tells you exactly how much PAG to add depending on what individual parts are being replaced.
Be sure to use the low viscosity PAG 46. You can buy bottles of the stuff at the auto store. It's usually got UV dye in it. Don't charge with a can of oil/134a mix. Oil should be added before the system is assembled. This ensures the correct amount is used.
Oil all new o-rings with a light coat of PAG.
The receiver/dryer should be replaced EVERY time the system is opened up. This keeps any moisture from remaining inside the system.
