piston wont release
I noticed while driving that my front drivers side wheel/caliper was getting unusually hot. So i had the whole front end brake system replaced and after driving for a bit I noticed the same one was getting hot, we took the pads out to check if the piston was releasing, i didnt release and is now stuck and wont go back in (1995 civic no ABS). can anyone help me figure this out!?

Re: piston wont release
did you replace the calipers as well? It sounds like an issue with either the caliper piston seizing in its bore or an internally blocked rubber brake hose not allowing the brake fluid to flow back out of the caliper to relieve the pressure. A good way to differentiate the two possible issues is when you apply force on the caliper piston to press it back in the bore does it not move at all? If it does not move by pressing it back normally open the bleeder screw to the caliper, and if brake fluid comes out of the bleeder screw(while depressing the piston) and the piston begins moves back than you have a blockage in the rubber brake hose causing the caliper to drag.

Re: piston wont release
Make sure the piston is not siezing (as stated above). If the piston moves freely when removed from the vehicle, check the memory seal responsible for returning the piston into the caliper when hydrolic pressure is released.
