Default looking for more N/A power from z6

i have a stock d16z6 engine in my crx. evrything converted to obd-1, and I/H cheap homemade exhaust. i was wondering what kinda head work it would take to be able to carry it up to around 7500-8k rpm safely if i had a chip. would that require some block work too?

i have been thinking about valve springs, retainers...maybe a cam..cam gear..blah blah. looking for advice that will actually produce noticable HP, and maybe a price guess to go along with it. thanks everybody.

head work is a very good option:

port polish and angle valve job.

Nonono

Gude head package =- ripoff.

Get Comp Camps <ZEX> cam, and valve springs/retainers. We picked up HP at the wheels on a Si Del Sol with just that change on the dyno. It made the car MUCH faster!

look to sell it and buy a b series j/k with ya.... if you want to up the revs your going to need a cam (one that will actually makes power @ higher rpm) springs and retainers...d16s respond good to p+p but it can get expensive...weigh your options and see if it would be more economical to swap. oh and btw stay away from gude!!! i have yet to meet a person who would reconmend them and know several ppl how have had problems w/ there service.

to be done safely, this would require the crank to be rebalaced. the redline is there because that is what the engine is balanced up to. however, if that's not your worry, the best things to upgrade would be your valve springs/retainers, and a more aggressive cam to complement your high revving. keep in mind, if you continually rev your engine that high, you're going to throw a rod or something of the sort. but isn't that just an excuse to swap motors?

What about the Gude Head package, Ive seen people selling them used on the board for around 600-700 bucks, new I think they go for 1500.

ok, well thanks for all the responds...but to all the people that said swap to b series.... i like my z6. this was my choice of swap. i wanted to be different, everybody around here gets damn zc or b16 swap..i wanted to prove that my almost stock sohc vtec can stay right with a damn b16 rex, beat zc rex, b16 hatch, hang with ITR and so on... screw b series... my best friend has one. now we have two rex's to play with...one b series, one d. best of both!!!!!! if i got a good cam, valve springs, retainers, and a p&p... even not reving higher.. would this produce much noticable power? and what kinda $$ am i looking at? thanks again
