how to test power window motor?

Default how to test power window motor?

98 civic 4 dr driver side
i got whole door i wanted to know if the motor works
how do i test the motor properly?

Run power and ground wires directly from the battery to the motor connector. Switching the wires just makes the motor run in the other direction.

Make yourself a small jumper harness with alligator clips. Your power window motors are reverse polarity motors. You can put 12v directly to them and then reverse + and - and the motor should turn the other direction.

thats what i did, i used the alligator clips that i made.
which wire should i connect the 12v?
theres black(-) blue/red red/blue red/yellow

i'm askin this question cuz in my coupe, the driver side window wont work if the switch on the pass side is not connected. i tot theres someting to do with that.

The window motor only has two wires.

Is had the same question on a 1996 civic ex sedan... Which wires are which? Mine seems to have 4 wires too (see pic below...thanks
