Default power window prblem.. I searched..but didnt get my answer.

Ok, for some reason I am not getting any response with my drivers side window. The passanger works fine, and I know the drivers side isn't bad, but i am lost. I changed the fuse, tried 3 different switches and nothing.

There are 4 wires that go to the motor in the plug. If I wanted to test the motor to make sure it works, which of the 4 wires would i need to hook up to for power. (well one is black, so I am assuming it is the ground.

Help soon...cause I need to roll my windows down!!!! Its HOT!

Beyond the motor being bad there is probably a broken connection in the door flex boot. I'd do a continuity check of the wiring from inside the footwell plug to the the motor (the cheap digitial multi-meter at radio shack has this option and with a little wire will reach).

so wait if you supplied a power and ground directly to the motor and got nothing out of it what are you still confused about.. that means the motor is bad.. ??

i am not sure I dd it right. There is 4 wires.... i dont know if I hooked it up correct...so I dont want to rule out the motor. I have not dirven this car in 2 years...and i dont see how all of a sudden it doesnt work....when there were no signs of it failing.

Glad to hear I helped. A Digital multi meter, like a test light, is a helpful tool to have for diagnosing wiring problems.
