I got a brand new AiResearch/Garrett '5031' turbo .48 turbine housing .60 compressor housing. I was seeing what the max hp I can get with good efficiency. I think the 5031 is 50mm exhaust 31mm intake?

 

you're confusing the Garrett with the Precision line. the 5031 is a Precision designation is equivalent to the Garrett AiResearch 50 "trim" that uses a T31 turbine housing ("31") and a 50 trim 58mm inducer. Your maximum hp on that particular turbo is about 420whp. it starts to get inefficient for Honda B-series VTEC engines at about 19-23psi of boost pressure. Inlet of the turbo is more than likely about 2.5", while the compressor outlet is 2" to the intercooler. Turbine inlet is more than likely T3, while the outlet is a 2.5" T31 turbine 4 bolt. But they do come in Ford Style SVO 5 bolt turbine housings as well.

 

Awesome thanks for the info. There was no badge just the turbine housing said AiResearch and i knew the info on the wheels. Ill be on 17psi on my gsr with a built bottom. Getting her tuned friday
