1st gsr boost build, need a little help.
Just a quick question, this is my first build so baer with me. Ok so my current 96 gsr has about 200k on it, but has been babied since day one motor still runs strong of course. After taking my time and searching found a deal on another obd1 gsr block which i bought. after scouring through the marketplace and reading a cakeload of threads i've decided to go w/ a piston and rod kit from realstreet performance in the marketplace.
Before i actually order my pistons/rods i just had a question or two. Well first my plans for the car are , it will be daily driven, a/c and p/s are going to be kept and i wont be sleeving. I'd really like to run low boost and make good power which brings me to my question. can i run 9:5 comp.forged cp pistons boosted safely, daily driving on pump gas or should i be safe and run 9:1?
I figured if i ran 9:5 it would give me that little bit of higher compression, coupled w/ boost i wouldnt have to run high boost to make the power i want. I'm looking for around 315-340 daily driving on pump gas out here (93). With the option to turn my boost up and still have room to make more power daily without having to worry about detonation. I know the post is long just trying to do everything rite the first time. this is my baby, any help would be greatly appreciated, anyone running a similiar setup feel free to chime in as well.

First off 9:5 is not higher compression, a stock GSR is like 10:1 or somthing, if my mind is serving me correctly. Second off how much boost you run high or low is going to depend on turbo used!

I never said my aftermarket pistons were a higher compression than the stock compression. Yes the stock gsr compression is 10:0:1, but the question is can i safely use 9:5 comp. pistons w/ boost and not have to worry about detonation or any other issues. I dont think i'd ever want to use 10:1 compression pistons in my boosted setup would i? I'm just trying to take every precaution to ensure the longevity of my motor while still being able to run a mid-high comp piston to make good power. i guess it would help w/ which turbo i'll be using, i'm looking at, at least a 60 trim.
