Default 83mm bore with stock sleeves?

how does everyone feel about an 83mm bore on stock sleeves with a block guard. im only planning on boosting 5-8 pounds max. ive heard its not safe for high boost but what about a little?

or does anyone know of a company that makes 82.5mm pistons for boost? because 83mm just seems like alot for stock sleeves.

Still a bad idea to bore over 81.5 IMO on stock sleeves but if you wanna be the guinea pig I would be happy to learn from your mistakes wink wink

I had a 300hp gsr bored to 83mm stock sleeves, forged pistons and rods and ctr cams... I put over 10k miles on it, sold it, and the guy still drives it that way! Life expectancy of your motor depends heavily on the TUNE and amount of power you're looking to make. Don't expect a 450hp stock sleeve to last nearly as long as 250hp...

I wouldn't belive that even if you payed me to. At 82mm the bores will go out of round in no time and have a very good chance failing. 81.5mm is the max you should take them to... The less you take off the better.

even try to find a 81.25 piston if you can. the thicker you leave the sleeves the better off you are. If the wall is scroed that deep then its time for a new block or sleeves

a block guard won't protect the sleeves in between cylinders.and why would you built an engine and boost less...
