First off let me start off by saying this problem has been happening since i bought this car.

In the 4 yearsI've had this car as a beater, I've changed the plugs, cap and rotor, even the starter.

The last thing I got cause I thought it was the ignitor, so I went out and bought a good Distributor.

I switched over all my stuff on to the 'new' distributor (good but used one), and used it.

Car turned on like normal, but days after it started going back to its 'old ways' of cranking like in this video below (iphone video, sorry its crucial shakey), and not being able to turn on. Sometimes its ok, and takes a couple tries, but will turn on. Other times like today, it took me like 20 mins to get the car started!

do you hear the fuel pump prime?

 

Yes it does.

 

If it eventually starts and runs you may want to troubleshoot the fuel system. (fuel filter clogged injectors)
If it runs and then does not start after on occasion, resolder the main relay points. Look up main relay fix.

 

Ahhhh thanks man! I might just try cheap fuel injector cleaner. Hopefully that may help.


And yes, hopefully it isnt the main relay but I will look into that!
