water tempreture guage problems!! help!!!

Default water tempreture guage problems!! help!!!

ok i have a 98 dx.replaced thermostat, and sensor.. checked fuses, new radiator fluid, made sure it was flowing good, checked wire on back of cluster. idk what else it can be the guage still isnt working and was working just a few days ago!!

please help thanks

What fuses did you check? Anything else in the cluster not working?

well my in cab fuse covers missing so i pulled every single one and only found 1 bad and replaced it. the one in the engine i checked also and they were all good. and its only the water temp that dosent work. the lights, spedo, gas all work! idk what to do

Did you replace the right sensor? Have you tested the wiring from the sensor to the cluster?

IIRC there is actually 3 CTS's in the car.
1 for the gauge
1 for the ECU
and 1 for the e-fan turn-on

The 1 for the cluster gauge should be a 1 wire sender located under the dizzy on the head.
I THINK the 1 for the ecu is the OTHER sender (2 wire) under the dizzy just forward of the 1 wire jammy....just a couple inches apart from each other.
Last 1 (2 wire) is on the t-stat housing just above where the tranny meets the block on the passenger side...I THINK that's the 1 for the e-fan.
I could be wrong on those though.

^^^ You are right on all of them. To test the circuit just ground the wire that goes to the sensor, the gauge should read full hot.
