Alright I get real sick of driving my civic around to say go to the store of something. I will try to avoid taking the civic if it's at all possible.
Why? Because it has no torque.
So anyone have any idea how I can get this?
I just need enough so it's more enjoyable to drive and sit in traffice in.
I had a UR pulley on which made it alot nicer. Unfortunately it led to the demise of the motor so I took it off.
So what can I lgihten up to get more turque to the wheels?
I have a light weight flywheel already. I was thinking of getting UR time race gear to free up a few lbs. And I have heard of brake rotors with aluminum hats. And does anyone make lighter drive shafts?
Or anything else I can do. I'm looking for a little more under 3000 rpm. Above that I have plenty of power. But I can't drive in traffic like that.
Any ideas would be helpful. And no I won't take out my AC.

um
lightweight pulleys, flywheel, etc HURT lowend.
face it, you drive a honda.
there is no way to get low end torque. unless you put a b20 in.

Well it's already turbo charged witha completely built motor. I don't think my turbo is gonna give me anything under 3000 rpm anyways.
And lightening pullies are gonna kill my torque. If you say so.
Then throwing a 20 lb barbell in there somewhere should give me awesome torque.
I'm not looking for monster torque here. Just enough to make the car more driveable going from stop light to stop light.
I'd imagine just 5 lbs of torque would give me the desired effect.
So if anyone has any ideas please share.
Thanks again.

up your compression with some new pistons and dump some octane booster in your tank next time you fill up. oh yeah, get a v8 if you want torque.

when you lighten stuff like that you loose low end power. it dosent transfer the power as well because its so light
i see you have a built motor (probably with low compression pistons)
those are killing the low end too.
face it dude, its gonna run like **** down low.
thats just the way it works when you buid an engine for that.
a turbo charged engine is going to lose that low end range. It runs off exhuast, and below 3 grand, you're not pushing much out, just vacuum. I would suggest slightly higher comp pistons, a thinner head gasket, or milling the head a bit. Or throw in a 25 shot and that would give some added high end too, if you think you can handle it.

hahah like hes going to shoot up nos every time the light turns green at every intersection........
TURBO THAT *****!!!!!

No one has anyideas.
Someone must have some clever ideas out there!
I'll rephrase the question.
How can I get more of the power from the engine to the wheels? Without increasing the power produced by the motor?
Or what in the drive train can I lighten without harming the motor? (so lightened pully is out of the question)
Thanks in advance
Some ideas were great but not the way I want to go. I'm not taking the engine apart and not raising the compression or adding notrous. The car isplenty fast for racing already but it sucks major ***** for driving to the store.

not centrifugal (still runs off exuast gas)
The only way to make low end power is through bigger displacement. That's a fact of life.
When you're spinning less than 3k RPMs, then only way to get more air into that engine is by making it bigger. I know you can go small turbo that spool up earlier, but those size turbo will run out of power at higher revs.
Now having said that, if you lighten things after the fly wheel, like light weight wheels, that will make your car acclerate better in the lower revs.

I was thinking of spulging on some spoon wheels if I couldn't think of anything else. SO that might be the way to go at this point. (I already have 4 sets of wheels for my car so getting another might get me in trouble with the girlfriend, and that's just for this car. I have three sets for another car to
)
LSD? are we talking the drug because that might be the best option at this point. Not sure where a LSD would help. Beside I already have one.

I don't know if you're running a big turbo already. If you are, then that turbo is hurting your low end power as well. Think about it. Before that turbo spools up, it's a big restriction in your intake, choking your engine off from air. This is a trade off of running a big turbo.
