hey guys/girls i have a 92 prelude h22a 2.2 v-tech and have no clue about it.. lol... My car runs and idles fine till 10-15 min in the oil light flickers on off then stays lit the i lose all hp like grandma behind the wheel... from stop and go first gear take off is ok soon as i get in second and ect. all hp is gone but car still runs just sluggish like someone is tryin to pull me the other way. Freind of mine checked CEL and he said K/S but from readin yals post im not sure what to do cause ive been told by others oil pump and o2 sensor so please help me in anyway.... thanx

ok so you were told its the oil pump switch out the oil pump and see if it gets any better

 

stop driving the car until you fix it. otherwise, your small problem that shouldn't cost you too much will end up being a very expensive problem.

 

i dont think the oil pump is out so i dont wanna spend the money on one cause if it doesnt fix it then im out money.... im not driving it anymore since the prob started i just start it every once in awhile when i try new parts..i just need to know what im missing cause iv read some post on here to people with similar prob and i see the k/s is mentioned the coil is mentioned as well as the o2 and egr valve so before i spend all this money i need to know where to start thanx for any help anyone can give me....

 

and i wasnt told my oil pump is out it was reconmended to check my oil pump to see if thats it... Need Jdm

 

ok i checked the CEL code and its just showing k/s and v-tech sel. Would that cause all these problems someone please help dont wanna spend alot of money if not needed or on wrong parts...

 

Sounds like you gotta lotta crap build up in your oil and possibly plugged the screen on your Vtec solenoid.

 

Drop the oil pan and check the pick up, usually the problem when oil pressure is lost, if not then more than likely oil pump failure.

 

Check your Knock Sensor which is something no one else said. If its going bad and it thinks it is picking up a knocking sound its gonna to retard the Ignition timing, which will kill any power the car needs to get moving under load.

 

get a honda oil pressure switch it has a warranty so you lose out i had the same problem and it messed up two before it got better. the let put it on and return them for a full refund.
