i need some help. i just swapped in a b16 into my ek and i cant get the idle to drop under 2 grand. im using a OBD2b to OBD1 convension harness to my chipped obd1 ecu

 

Chipped? You sure it's not your tune/basemap?

 

its not my ecu grumblemarc because it did the same thing with my stock si ecu.

and TTacous yes it is 99-00 harness and engine. but i dont have the dash harness that plugs into the ecu because my shell is a 96-98 ek. could that cause the problem?

 

Any slack in the throttle cable? Any CELS? Vacuum leak?

 

if you have cruise, make sure its not binding and holding the tb valve open a bit.

 

well my cel is on but i dont know how to check the codes since i converted it to obd1. and i know im missing a knock sensor. and my throttle body is fine. plenty of slack on the throttle cable

 

Check the codes like it's obd1. You have no vac leaks?

 

Check codes then come back and tell us whats wrong.

ok guys i went to read the codes but my dam cel doesnt light up! it wont send me any codes. i used the link raidacaipo posted to check the codes but when i use the blue connector nothing happens. i seriously need some help guys

 

Is the CEL actually working? Bulb present? Burnt out?

would dat also cause it to run rich? i pulled the spark plugs the other day and they all were covered in crbon dust. they are brand new not even 100 miles on them

 

I don't know. You never pulled that CEL code. Do that before anything.

 

idnt kno how. i tried jumping the two wire the cel thread says to jump but my light doesnt flash.

 

im running an obd2 99 civic si harness with obd2 injectors on a obd1 intake mani wit an obd2b to obd1 step down harness without the 99-00 civic obd2 dash harness

 

^^ if you can't do a simple task of giving us the codes, then there's really no point in helping.. Try and figure out the codes its the easiest thing to do before you do anything else.

Are you doing it correctly? Did you turn the car on the "On" position? are you jumping the correct connector?
