Default dome light not working due to alarm?

when i got my 98 civic, the previous owner said he had problems with the alarm so
he took out the brain, the dome light does not work when u open the door, did not realize it till it got dark. but DOES when u turn it on with the "on" position. it a auto page.

is the alarm linked up to the pin in the doors? does it need to be pluged back in, what spot under the dash where the common place for the brain, looked under the dash but cant find the harness, the trunk light turns on and off properly, what could i check? could it be something other than the alarm?

pull out radio.
find loose green connector.
find light green/black and light green/red wires.
put a jumper wire to connect them.
domelight will now work.

**** All Civics 96-98 have that issue due to the extra plug that connects to the stock Honda radio. If the radio is replaced with an aftermarket unit, that harness plug is not used...hence the domelight is not getting power to come on.

Could be a diff. in USDM and CDM Civics without keyless, I have not had to do it on the ones I have done up here, only the ones with keyless. 94

Same here FCM.. I think the CX and DX's didn't require it, where as the LX, HX, EX did. It's been a while so I may be recalling incorrectly.. but pretty sure that's how I remember it
