Hi everyone,
I have tried to get the ecu codes from my 95 honda civic vti. i have jumped the service check connector (two wire brown and black) but the cel just constantly flashes and does not put out any codes. I counted for 30 constant flashes, but i assumed this was just going to continue so i stopped. i have tried a few times and the same thing happens. Has anyone else had this problem and knows what this means?

Bit of backgorund:
I have just had my head repaired, but my car since has been running rough. Big fluctuating rpms while driving, bad acceleration, and a bit jolty at times because of it. My cel light comes on when my car seems to get up to normal running temp and wont go off, but if i turn me car off briefly and back on it wont come back on...until it is rested for awhile. My mechanic told me to get the codes and get back to him. All help is appreciated.

it just blinking because its not reading a code.....

i had the same issue before...well i had no noticable problems what-so-ever...after like a week or two is stopped doing it?....sorry i could not be of much more help

 

That is what it's suppose to do. Depending on how long the flashes are on for and how long the pauses are inbetween, it could be one code or multiple codes. For instructions on how to figure out code go here CEL thread how to. Then do the ecu reset procedure described in the thread and see if the CEL comes back. If it returns the search for a solution to that specific code.
