With the car on, no lights. With the car off, and with the key out, the Oil light comes on in red and stays on.

I checked the oil level and everything is normal. I'm not entirely sure what's going on. Has this happend to anyone; or can anyone shed some light on this particular issue?

The EOPS supplies the ground for the oil light, 12V+ is supplied by a switched ign. source, [hot in run or start] so even if pressure switch is bad, the oil pressure light should not be on with ign. off.

My guess is a problem with the cluster, maybe a bad ground.

I would also check all fuses, test them properly do not just eyeball them. 94

Hey check this out, I had a similar problem years ago, though not exactly the same. Battery light stayed on with engine off, and with engine running the battery light went off but the oil light flashed continuously. Turned out to be a bad alternator. Weird I know but it turns out the alternator and ICM under the dash were the 2 common parts between the oil pressure and battery charging circuits. I went through the entire ICM troubleshooting process listed in the Helms and determined that it was okay, so the alternator was the only thing left.

Where is the ICM? (Thanks for the threads also!!)

 

It's under the dash somewhere around the fuse box.

 

Are we talking about the ICU, [integrated control unit] because the ICM, [ignition control module] is in the distributor????

Your ICU is mounted/plugged in to the back of the under dash fuse box. 94
