Default Start up after 1 year

Ok long story short I have a h22a swaped eg civic that has been sitting for a year. Mice are living in the car. (hahaha). I did not put any fuel stabilizer in it before I let it sit. Anyway, I'm about to start working on the car again to finish up after leaving. Besides electrical is there anything else you suggest I do before I start it? I'm gonna change the oil in anyway, but anything else?

BTW: Any good remedies to get rid of mice?

change oil and filter, put a teaspoon of oil into each cylinder, crank the engine a couple of times with injectors and disty disconnected, then plug everything back in, prime the fuel pump and start it up.

p.s.: its also not a bad idea to change the spark plugs and drain the stale gas from the tank, and refill it with fresh gas.

The top end is probably dry. Take your valve cover off and pour oil over everything, just make sure you don't overfill it with oil.

There is a drain plug on the gas tank.

Make sure your battery is well charged.

To get rid of the mice, moth ***** work I believe. And get ready to clean. The smell of mouse urine will linger. Make sure to inspect hoses and be ready for electrical issues. My brother had a Yugo that sat and mice chewed on hoses, wires, all kinds of stuff. Nasty.

First thing you want to do is remove the bad gas and add some fresh gas in there.

I had my b16 sit for about 9 months. I changed the oil and started it. No engine problems what-so-ever.

Just do what Mazdaholic said, crank it a few times to build some oil pressure.

Put some fresh fuel in it,(or drain old crap) your choice.

My car sat for 7 months. Started up just fine, and it still runing great to this day, almost 3 years later.

connect jumper cables, put new gas on top of old gas, turn key to 'start'

we're starting a car that sat for a year, not trying to get the space shuttle into orbit.
