so im the 3rd owner of this 01 civic, the tranny died 3 months after i bought the car...i had a rebuilt tranny installed 3 weeks ago and for the last 2 weeks ive been noticing the same slip form second to third gear under part throttle. this happened to my last trans 2 weeks before it finally blew. any ideas????? ive heard of manual swaps, and ive replaced fwd transmissions before, how hard would it be and around how much would it cost??? any recomendations to make my trans last until i get all the stuff for the swap? could take me maybe 2-3 months to get the money. any input would be greatly appreciated!

 

Did the transmission come with any kind of warranty? It should have. If it's already acting up after only three weeks, I'd contact the shop you bought it from.

As for the cost of an auto-to-manual swap, that all depends on availability of parts in your area, and whether or not you're going to do your own work.

i had to argue with the shop owner for a few hours and we took it to aamco, they found a sticking valve on the valve body..but now my car overheats?!?!? i dont know if this has anything to do with the transmission??
