Default newbie here needing help with b16 build

hi everybody i'm new to the forum, i have a 95 civic dx and it's all stock, i have a b16 block im wanting to build and boost one day, but not right now. I'm new to the civic world so not sure on alot of stuff, but already learning alot from this great forum, so what i'm needing help on is i'm needing to find out is what's a good way to build this? (like internals, etc..) since i'm eventually wanting to boost it does that effect what i should get? This car will just be ran on the street not sure if that will make a difference, and not sure on hp im wanting either, but any help would be appreciated so thx in advanced.

Can't help you do anything until you set a goal. Horsepower being the first goal you should set. Maybe go to the Forced Induction forum and look at the build threads to get an idea.

Unless you have previous mechanic or want to pay an assload to have it built you, you should probably ly leave the internals stock and go for a boost application like maybe 8-10 lbs. It's safe to push that much boost on stock internals. Go for that, see how much horsepower you make, then go for something more with upgraded internals.

8-10 PSI on what? You can't determine that without the turbo. You don't pick the turbo until you know what horsepower you're going to be making. Horsepower depends on what the engine can handle (built or stock). Again. PSI does not determine how much horsepower you make. It is the other way around.
1-Set horsepower goal
2-Put together turbo kit
3-Get engine tuned.

Like the previous post say, set your goals first. If you decide to go upgrade the internals it would probably be a low comp setup. The only problem with that is your engine will suck it until you get boost.

If you are looking at modest gains keep the stock internals and put together a good turbo kit and run lower boost until you have the opp to upgrade internals.

Once again its not how much boost you run. Its about how much stress and power you push through the motor.

Well maybe you should think about it like this. And I don't see why everyone centralizes around power.:

Maybe this guy just wants to boost his motor. He knows can't push more than 8-10 lbs on stock internals. He gets everything he needs to do his boost project. He boosts and tunes it at 8lbs. He doesn't give a **** how much power he makes. He can see how he feels about his project, and if he wants more power, then he can set a HP goal and build for it.

Jesus Christ, its always "what is your Hp goal?" With boost people. Maybe I just wanna boost safely and can't afford low compression internal quite yet. I don't care what numbers I make. Sure I wanna know, bu I'm not gonna centralize it.

If you have any intelligence with the process of dyno tunning a car, you would understand its not the just about getting it tuned the numbers also tell you on how healthy your motor is. whitout any knowledge or care of what hp you make off the dyno how can you be so sure its reliable and is going to last.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Go browse the Forced Induction forum and get an idea of what it takes to boost an engine. FIRST you have to know how much power a stock engine can take. THEN you pick the turbo that will handle that power. Build it. Then when it's tuned the tuner will set the PSI (and other variables) that will be safe and reliable.

See? PSI is the LAST thing you talk about when boosting an engine, not the first. It's a by-product, not a determining factor.
