brake swap
Hey guys, whats up?? Need some help, I'm about to buy a GSR brake swap, front and rear, for my 00 Honda Civic but was wondering if anybody knows if I need a different axle for the front to fit or if its just a straight swap. Thanx guys!!
The outer axle shafts are the same size, so you will be good. However, you may need to do a proportioning valve change depending on what model civic you have. Also, GSR brakes are no larger than other integra brakes. The only larger integra brakes would be those from an integra type r. What model civic do you have exactly?
Actually, the Integra does take a larger front pad than any model Civic. However, my comparison shows that the piston diameter between calipers is the same, thus the effective braking force remains the same.
Civic EX calipers have much smaller pistons than most integras. ITR pistons are IIRC actually smaller than all other integra caliper pistons.
Yeah you're not the first person to say that. I have matched an LS caliper piston up to an EX piston and the LS was a lot bigger.
