Manual P2P on Converted EK
Wats up guys, I recently converted my 2000 civic coupe ex to manual and ive been looking for a manual p2p to get everything running correctly but my automatic ecu has 4 plugs instead of 3 and the car wont start with the manual ecu. Would i need a wire harness or something? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Automatic ECUs have an extra plug, when using the manual plug just let it hang. I remember Katman saying years ago that automatic EX harnesses had unique issues that result in a no start condition when used in a 5 speed car, but I don't specifically know what has to be modified.
Your 00 Civic is OBD2b. I asked because the OBD2a and 2b ECU connectors look similar; however, I don't know whether they can plug into the other ECU. The OBD2a and 2b plugs are pinned differently.
I can attest to RonJ@HT's statement. I just got a 1998 DX and I swapped a d15 into it. I ended up buying a P2P ECU just today, and through research I found that the plugs for OB2a and OBD2b are wired differently. Be careful on which one you get.
