Is it possible to convert a manual ECU to automatic?
I know its possible to convert a automatic ECU to manual but is it possible to convert a manual ECU to automatic? If so how?I searched and didn't find anything, only found automatic to manual conversions. The ECU is a P06-A01 from a 93 civic.

hit up the guys at Xenocron.com. they can convert anything. but i think it would be cheaper to buy a manual P06 than it would to convert it.

You can, or at least should be able to, but you have to actually add components to the board. Converting from an automatic to manual is easy, you're simply disabling circuitry. Going the other way you need to actually add the circuitry first (theres a couple of transistors for sure, I forget all what else. It shouldn't be hard to find an automatic P06, they're extremely common, with a very low demand.

I know it’s been awhile since the original post. But the answer is yes, it’s just a lot of work. You pretty much need an automatic ECU to take parts from or you’re going to have to find out values for everything. I did it with a manual p28. I took the parts from an automatic p06. I got a picture of an automatic p28 and put in everything that was missing. The p06 had all the same pieces that were missing on the p28 except 2. But those 2 were on the ECU just had to pull them from another location on the board. I might put up some pics. There was about 20 pieces that had to be swapped. If I had the money I would have just bought another ECU.

Unmolested auto ecus are easier and cheaper to acquire than manual ecus. Converting a rare item to a not so rare item by adding complexity doesn't make much sense.
