93 Teg B16A: CEL flickering when clutch depressed?!
Hello all, I wanna give you some info on myself since this is my first post here. I'm from east Tennessee and have 4 toys right now. A 93 Integra w/ a B16a swap, a 92 Lexus SC300 w/ a 1jz swap single turbo, in the process of doing a r154 transmission swap, an 05 Subaru Legacy GT w turboback exhaust (wife's ride), and a 94 Taurus SHO 5 speed
.
Anyway, I'm having an issue with the Integra. I bought the car with the swap already done unlike my Lexus where I did it myself. I've already had to fix some wiring and changed the clutch, flywheel, and starter. Then I removed the VAFC. I had to run new wires for the knock sensor, elec. fan, vtec pressure switch, and vtec selenoid. There were eleventybillion splices in these wires and i pulled new ones and soldered and heat shrinked them.
The problem: The car ran fine for a couple hours. (except no vtec, the speedo isn't working, i'll have to fix that next.) Then the car cut off about 5 times in 7 miles on my way home. When I push in the clutch, I hear a click and the cel will flicker. When I let go it shuts off. But sometimes it stays on even when the clutch is out. Its random and flickers on and off sometimes when I push and pull slowly. I figured this out by doing this when the engine is off and the key on.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Matt

I got an idea, I think you need a new engine harness from all the splices. A hacked up engine harness especially when someone other than yourself did it cause problems/glitches like this one will happen. Only thing I can think of is look above your clutch pedal and see if the switch is messed up or a wire is loose.
Yea that's what I was thinking with the harness deal. I just didn't know if this was a fairly common thing with the Integra or if there was something in specific I needed to look for. I do appreciate your response as well as any others!
mm maybe a misfire.try a compression test.something similiar but i found this https://honda-tech.com/forums/acura-integra-type-r-8/help-flashing-check-engine-light-2682829/

Yea, I know it..it's frustrating lol.
Well we figured out that it's the main relay that is doing the clicking. I replaced it, still does the same thing. Waste of $60. Checked all the main grounds. They are good. Are there any switches connected to the clutch pedal that could short and cause the relay to click randomly?
