d16y8 dorman oil pans?

Default d16y8 dorman oil pans?

well just bought a d16y8, the oil pan's leaking a little bit and the drain nut is chewed/stripped, so im thinking i just replace the whole pan/ gasket

anyways, i was wondering if anyone has tried dorman oil pans?

where could i get a cheap original d16y8 oil pan?

I'm sure you can get a used on off of Ebay or the Marketplace much cheaper than that. I think you should be able to retap the drain plug and then replace the gasket.

so far ebay i've seen prices are 80+

theres actually a small crack on pan, so i need to replace

Haven't seen any reviews other than it being a steel pan so if you bottom out somehow it will bend and not break like the aluminum ones. Everything I've ever bought from Summit I've had no issues with.

I might give them a try on my new engine build.

I don't understand the question. Get the gasket that fits the pan.

i ve searched on summit, they didnt have one that fits,

so i should get a d16y8 gasket?

if the pan is for that motor then the oem gasket should fit right?

yes the y5,y7,y8 all use the same pan gasket.

Sorry to res an old thread but I was wondering what the outcome of this was. I need a new pan as well and found that Summit was stocking the wrong pan. Did you end up replacing yours? I cant find anyone but the dealer who has the right one for the D16y8.

Spend the money, get an OEM pan. There are used ones on Ebay. Perfect fitment, dealer OEM gasket. No problems for the next 100k.
