d16y8 dorman oil pans?
well just bought a d16y8, the oil pan's leaking a little bit and the drain nut is chewed/stripped, so im thinking i just replace the whole pan/ gasket
anyways, i was wondering if anyone has tried dorman oil pans?

or
where could i get a cheap original d16y8 oil pan?

I'm sure you can get a used on off of Ebay or the Marketplace much cheaper than that. I think you should be able to retap the drain plug and then replace the gasket.

Haven't seen any reviews other than it being a steel pan so if you bottom out somehow it will bend and not break like the aluminum ones. Everything I've ever bought from Summit I've had no issues with.
I might give them a try on my new engine build.

Sorry to res an old thread but I was wondering what the outcome of this was. I need a new pan as well and found that Summit was stocking the wrong pan. Did you end up replacing yours? I cant find anyone but the dealer who has the right one for the D16y8.
