Default 5th Gen rotors

Its time to replace my pads and rotors on my 01 Lude (w/ only 60K miles!) all original 100% OEM except a K&N drop in air filter.

I already bought Honda pads but, i see that Honda rotors are expensive. Are they worth the price?

Any 1st hand experience is helpful.
fyi- its my daily.

thx

I recommend the Wearever rotors from Advance Auto. They come with a two year warranty for warpage.

Part No. YH141513 price $35.99 ea

See if you can find somewhere that will turn the rotors for cheap for already having them off the car, OEM rotors can be resurfaced quite a few times before they meet their limit.

Why bother getting them resurfaced when new ones cost the same amount?

I'd go with advance auto rotors and some good pads. If you're worried about brake dust like me go with EBC green stuff pads, everyone says they are super low dust

I've always just gone with the cheapest brand, made sure I never had them overtorqued and unevenly torqued via when lugnuts are put on and mine go forever. Period. 80lbs at the lugnut and call it a day.

I bought both f/r sets @ Oreilly's Auto Parts, comes w/ lifetime warranty. Did the same for the pads, using Wagners ThermoQuiet pads.

yeah you would think they could have just been resurfaced but, since the previous owner only drove it 5k per year for 7+ years and sat in a garage....
about a 1/2 inch was rusted very bad, to the point where it would interfere w/ the new pads.
the shop suggested I get new rotors too.

Impact wrenches are great for taking things off, not for putting things back on.

Anyone that uses an impact wrench to put lugnuts on is a moron. This is how you warp a rotor in 100 miles. Period.

Do your own brakes, the shop is probably overcharging you
