Default OEM rotors?

I just went to a brake shop to see if they could put on my new Hawk pads and resurface the rotors. My car only has 35k miles and the guy said my rotors where too thin to resurface and that acura doesnt recommend resurfacing rotors, they recommend getting new ones everytime you replace pads. Is this dude full of **** or what? The brakes have never been changed on the car. I dont see how the OEM rotors could wear down so thin that they cant be resurfaced in 35k miles. Thanks

He also told me my best bet was to go find some rear pads and buy those then bring them back to him with the fronts and hell just put the pads on for 75 bucks. F**k that guy

The ep3/dc5 rotors do not have a long service life. The "new" thickness of the rotor is 21mm for the ep3. The "minimum" thickness of the rotor is 19mm. That means there is essentially 3mm of useable rotor thickness. So yes, replace your rotors instead of resurfacing as resurfacing a set of rotors that have been used for some time will typically take that rotor to below the minimum thickness.
