Default New guy from GA with a DA. distributor problem?

watsup i have a 91 integra gs with the b18b1 swap in it. and its throwing the code for the cyp sensor. it will run fine when its cold and after it warms up it will start sputtering and sounds like its missing and wont rev past 3100 rpms. is that all from the cyp sensor?

yes, the cylinder position sensor, thats the problem. its in the distributor, its pretty easy to replace of youve got an old dizzy lying around. if not just buy a new distributor and youll be good to go. do not buy one from ebay!

it was also throwing codes for the knock sensor, fuel supply system, and the tdc sensor. but i cleared the codes one day and then it was just throwing the cyp sensor code for awhile then all these came back again

Sounds like you have two major issues with your distributor, so a new or confirmed working one is your best bet.

Cylinder position sensor??? Did I read that correctly? Don't you mean "Crankshaft Position Sensor"? Better edit that.

You have me stuck with this problem. I haven't seen a car in all my short experience throw that code out. If anything it sounds like it cannot find Cylinder No. 1 at top dead center via the position signal. Check your references for the code number and see the trouble shooting for it.

I have only used a Snap-On Modis, but that thing tells you the trouble shooting step by step, I have no experience with any other scan tools.

^yes you read it right i meant cylinder position sensor not crankshaft position sensor go check the codes the cars throw its a sensor in the distributor. and i cant put a scan tool on it its obd1. im going off the red light that flashes on the ecu.
but anyways new distributor fixed the problems still a slight miss but i think its just my plug wires. thanks guys
