when i accelerate its not smooth in second gear it kind of lags at about 5,500 then vtec kicks in and i also have a rough idle is this related can someone tell me what it could be? and theres no cel on

 

plugs/wires/distributor cap/rotor or clogged injectors or something

 

i checked everything and it all looks fine

checked plugs/wires/distributor cap/rotor/injectors and everything looked alright i have no CEL on but my SRS is......suggestions on what it might be

 

ignition system components, might be fuel filter but not likely

so a friend plugged in his thing that tells u whats wrong with yo car and all he told me was that my fuel was to rich ..........he was in a hurry so what can i do to fix this

 

5500!! wtf when i shift into second gear im at like 6700-7000rpm.. something wrong with ur car..are u sure its a b16 tranny???

 

^ he didnt say he was racing.. just in 2nd .. not everyone rapes their car though the gears all the time...

to the OP if you havent changed the dizzy cap and rotor id do that.. check the gap on your plugs or just buy new plugs n wires

 

found an old *** thread & the dude had all the same problems and his IAVC was messed up can that be whats wrong with my car

 

found out my catalytic converter was messed up bought a new one replaced that and my car still kinda lags so im going to buy new wires and spark plugs the dizzy looks like its new so that wont be touched

 

oh and im going to try and replace th IAVC

 

Check to see if your Timing is Set Right... I rode with a friend the other day and car felt WEIRD..... We checked around to see if the car was right... plugs, wires, your Norm.... You can clearly see his cam gears and belt so we decided to checking timing and Sure enough it was off by a tooth or so. Nothing Extreme to Damage the car but just not right....

After we set everything to Standard spec, The car felt and runs great. So check that.

 

so i guess one of my gaskets is jacked i checked my spark plugs had oil on them so i think i found my problem

 

my tranny grinds when i shift into 3rd but only if im speeding my dads friend said its most likely my synchros how much would it be to fix this

 

so this stupid car is have some of the same problems again it lags up till 4000rpm and then u feel it pull so differently the whole dizzy was change and wires and spark plugs ????
