Check engine light comes on after driving for 5-10min
So i have no idea why its coming on and i cant use a scanner to get codes bc im running an obd2 engine with an obd 1 ecu with jumper harness. When i start my car the check engine light is off and i can drive it around for 5 min on the street and then the light will come on. If i get on the freeway before the CEL comes on it will NOT come on until i exit the freeway and start to slow down. Then after the car is turned off, if i turn it back on the CEL will be off and the same thing will keep happening . Any suggestions ?! Should i just try to reset my ecu and see if it comes back on ?! recently replaced dizzy . The light was on before i replaced it but i believe it was bc of the bad dizzy then . Thanks your help is much appreciated !
Before we start replacing random parts reset the ECU. If it comes back pull the CEL code.

Its a b20b4 with gsr head and I will reset the ecu , but how am i going to pull the CEL code without taking it in , i've tried already with a scanner and it wont read my computer bc my link up is obd2 ecu is p28 chipped skunk2 obd1 and my o2 sensor isnt hooked up
Your ECU will be looking for a signal from one O2 sensor so that could be why your CEL is being triggered.
I don't know what kind of jumper harness you have but I thought they usually had a way of jumping them to get the codes.

this happen to me before this is how i found out what code it was... drive ur car around until u check engine lights comes on when it does..go back to ur house n park ur car but do not turn of ur engine LEAVE IT ON!!... than go over to where ur ecu is at and look n find the green rubber with the 2 plugs in it.. take out the one with 2 wires n jump it to each other... now go look at ur cluster and start counting the blinks.. this is how i did it n this is how i did to my buudy with an obd2 with obd1 ecu...ur obd2 scanner will not read obd1 ecu.. the reason mines came on was because i had a badd vss..so dont assume it ur o2, egr..etc..
I provided you a link to show you ho w to do just that.
